Janna Taylor, Parks & Recreation Director SUBJECT: Wilson Centre Consultant Selection RECOMMENDATION: That City Council endorse the Parks & Recreation Committee's recommendation of retaining Cornerstone Planning Group Ltd. BACKGROUND: Council at the 1984-08-20 meeting adopted the following resolution; 1. That a consultant be hired to do a feasibility study of the Wilson Centre. The criteria for the study would be: a) identify and draw up plans for the additional facilities required. b) identify the construction costs of these facilities 2. That the cost of the study. not exceed $10,000.00. 3. That the money for the study be taken from the Parks Reserve Fund. COMMENTS: 1. Requests for proposals were mailed to twelve consulting firms. Responses were received from seven of the firms contacted. 2. A short list of 4 firms were interviewed by the Parks & Recreation Committee for making a final decision. The Committee was unanimous in their decision. Cornerstone Planning Group Ltd. is a planning firm with a broad base of project experience for both public and private clients. The firm is integrated with the practice of Cornerstone Architects which will provide the architectural and engineering expertise Cont'd
