Subject: Street Renaming

RECOMMENDATION:

The Planning and Zoning Committee recommends:
1. That Marshall Avenue, west of Taylor, be renamed Tyler.
2. That the renaming of Marshall Avenue, east of Brown, to

Tyler be implemented immediately.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: .

On October 21, 1981 the Planning: and Zoning Committee reviewed the

renaming of Marshall Avenue. In 1978, Marshall Avenue, east of

Brown, was renamed Tyler, yet the name change was never implemented.

A new subdivision west of Taylor currently has the street name of Marshall

. Avenue. " This subdivision has two occupied homes and the Committee feei-

that the street should be named Tyler because it is in alignment with

Tyler east of Brown.
