Woman killed in head-on A LOCAL WOMAN was Killed in a head-on colli- sion near the Copper River Subdivision last week, Police say at approximately 2:15 p.m. June 12 on Highway 16 East, a west-bound pickup with camper collided head-on with an east-bound small sedan. \ Waltraud Marx, 50, of Terrace was the lone occupant’ of the sedan. She was killed on impact. German tourists driving the pickup sustained undetermined injuries that are ot considered to be life-threatening. They were taken to hospital in Kitimat. The pickup and camper were destroyed by fire, Am- bulance, RCMP and both Terrace and Thornhill fire de- partments attended the scene, which closed Highway 16 East for more than an hour. The campout starls tomorrow aftcrncon and student placement officer Joelle Walker hopes she and Natalie Dickson won't be permanent residents on the lawns. Job orders have been very slow to come into the Ter- race office this summer. However, things started to pick up a little last week, and 15 more jobs came in, bringing the grand total up to 29 for the last two weeks. However, most of the jobs have been casual ones, and Walker points out that college and university stu- dents still need to find full time summer jobs. So far 125 students are registered with the office. While Walker and Dickson are camping out, they won't be roughing it. They'll have a tarp set up with a tent, desk, cell phone and lap top.
