a ey On Monday, May 21 I had the honour of attending a sur- prise birthday tea for Alice Sleeth, mother. Nearly 50 friends gathered for this very special day at the home of Sandy and Keith to wish Alice many more years of health and happiness. Bertha Deane served tea from the silver service, Pat Davidson looked after the coffee and grandchildren Holly and Tim™ Norman handed out the. birth- day cake and generally helped lock after the guests. Margaret Sinjur had taken Alice out for lunch so the family had time to decorate the house and prepare for the party. Keith had made a Happy Birthday banner which was hung over the fireplace, Sandy and Keith would like to thank everyone who took the time to pop in and give Alice a birthday celebration she will not forget. Gifts and lovely cards with beautiful messages came Sandy Norman’s ~ Page 62: — Terrace Standard, Wednesday, June 6, 1990 A pleasant surprise from as far away as Montreal. It wasn’t meant lo sound the way it might have. I just hope that when I’m a senior [ am lucky enough to have a lovely person like Cecile around to help. Every Sunday I see her taking four or five ladies to church and making sure each is looked after, 1 must say, she is certainly a good neighbour and should get an award for the kindness she shows to all. . kek *.
