Background and Comments: The Parks and Recreation Departraent have lans to construct a pond as part of their park development. The pond is approximately 300 feet in length, 98 feet at it’s widest point and 5 feet deep in the center. The City’s Building and Plumbing Bylaw requires a 6 foot fence around any built in the City fat is more than 2 feet deep. A fence surrounding the pond in this instance is not practical. It was brought to the Protective Services Committee's attention that large ponds may be constructed in the future and the current Bylaw needs review to allow this type of development.
