Dear Frank:

Re: Shimizu Sawmill, Dike Improvements

This letter is to outline improvements to be made to the Pitt River Dike.
If this is acceptable to your client, it will be presented to the City Council
meeting of March 6th. What will be presented is a description of the works to
be done on the dike right of way as part of the rezoning. The report will
request approval for work on clearing the side of the dike and moving top soil
onto the dike. This is to permit your client to proceed with landscaping and
public walkway improvements on the dike before final approval of the rezoning

A number of specific actions were proposed during the meeting of
February 9th attended by your partner Mr. Cantafio. The work included;
1. A pedestrian tunnel constructed as part of the ramp for moving logs
from the river onto the saw mill property.

2. Stairs connecting the dike road to the tunnel.

3. Entry area containing the stair case is to be landscaped by the saw
mill. ;
