Entrance fees will be $50.00 received before June 15 and $60.00 for entries received after June 15. Entry fee 1g..required with Registration Form. All competition will be conducted using the officlal handcar of the "World Championship Handcar Races Society", In the event of rain, race officials can be requested to wipe the rails up to 6 metres from the starting blocks. Teams can be sponsored, Teams must arrive 30 minutes prior to their race time. Each team will consist’ of four (4) Pumpers, on (1) Pusher and one (1) optional substitute team member. All teams must field four (4) Pumpers. No one will be allowed: to compete on any more than one (1) team. Mixed teams must have at least two women on the handcar, Only registered substitutes will be allowed prior to finals. lf a team qualifies for the finals, that team roster including substitute becomes the official team for the rema:.nder of the competition. Official categories are as follows: CHAMPIONSHIP TEAM, FASTEST MEN'S TEAM, FASTEST WOMEN'S TEAM, FASTEST MIXED TEAM, FASTEST MEN'S MASTERS AND FASTEST WOMEN'S MASTERS TEAMS (Masters = over 40), CHAMPLONSHIP CATEGORY includes teams who are in top notch shape or have placed high in past races. MEN'S FASTEST TEAM CATEGORY include those teams who do not rate as high as those in the Championship Category. A team can compete in only one of these two categories (as outlined in 14 & 15) and must indicate Category in which they intend to compete prior to racing. Qualifications for final heat will be hased on placement within heat and Wild Cards - number based on number of entries received as published on date of races. Safe footwear, preferably runners or rubber soled boots, must be worn by all contestants ~ No traction devices such as spikes or cleats etc. will be ailowed, Overly loose clothing, loose chains and jewellery, hats and sunglasses are considered a safety hazard and must be removed. Eye~glasses must be secured | with safety strap, (Safety straps will be available on loan) Shirts must be worn. Each team member must sign a Disclaimer prior to any practice or competition. No team will be allowed to board handcar without Boarding Pass. Moving forward by the Pusher into the Restricted Zone will not be allowed. Pusher‘'s feet must remain in contact with the Pusher Block. Car will not be allowed to be held back against blocks prior to starting. All Pumpers must face forward, Team participants must ibe 19 years of age or older. No person shall be allowed to race while under the influence of alcohol or drugs. Automatic disqualification and forfeiture of entry fee will result from the following: (a) Disorderly or drunken conduct.: (b) Pushing or reboarding by Pumpmen. (c) Undue delay, (4) "No-Show'’ at allotted starting time. (e) Pre~Pumping ; (f£) Less than five (3) team members, Team captains are responsible for their team's knowledge of and compliance with these rules; and ensuring their entire team is present and ready to race at the specified time, : All teams must have one (1) practice run to qualify to race. Team captaiva are responsible for the pick up of any trophies his or her team has won from the Race Official in charge of Trophies. Captains are also responsible_ for the whereabouts of the Perpetual Trophy, won by his group, during the rest of year and be able to return such trophy to Race Organizers upon request, Decision of Judge(s) will be final. 34
