page 2 Editor’s Notes re Wene oo a fine celebrarnon of Sally Michener’s quarter century of teaching ux Emily Cart last night. The room was overrun with potters, most of whom had first set hands on clay under Sally's aegis. She will be missed as a ceacher, but will now have moge time to devote to her own artistic production. I left before one of the rumored highlights of the evening, a serip show by one of our more respected clay fellows, who was reliving his wild youth. Ic must have been all those body reference terms, as the pottery talk flew chick and fast! And che cake, a co-operanve effort by fifteen students, had co be seen to be beliewed... =** A large part of John Reeve's ceramic collection was sold this month. He had pots from. che moase illustrious potters of the Anglo-Japanese tradition of St. Ives; Bernard Leach, Stroji Hamada, Walter Keeler, Ruth Duckworth. Lucy Rue, Michael Cardew, Svend Bayer and many more, [t seems a bic of a shame chat no generous donor came forth to buy the collection whole and present it to one of the local museums. It would have been a fine teaching tool for many generations of potters yet to come. Bur there must be some very happy purchasers our there, clutching their mewly acquired pots to delighted bosoms. : Potter’s Guild of B.C.
