page & Firstly, a big weleome to your new board of directors: Ron Feicht, Ronda Green, Dona Nabara, Aaron Nelson, Bill Rennie and Celia Rice-Jones! Celia was nominared from the floor at the Annual General Meeting, chereby filling che slate of nominees for an acclamation. Although che AGM went very smeecthly, our accountant did soc complete the review of the financial statements in time for the AGM. Enclosed in this newsletter is the Annual Report, and the statements prepared by our treasurer, Janet Turpin, for the AGM. Should you wish to receive the complete, reviewed set of financial statements, please call, email, fax or write co me and [ will get a set out to you. At the AGM, it was suggesced char we should be pucting our budget in the newsletter for such items as membership dues and other revenues and expenses, to give pou the opportunity to be aware of our need for generating revenue. Over the summer hiatus (for the newsletter only, thar is!}, we will create a user-friendly format for presentation of this daca in che September issue of the newsletter. Along with the AGM was, of course, the fifth annual Made Of Clay Sale Event. From all accounts, the sale seems to have been successful, grossing within the range of previous years (there has been a 5-10% plus/minus fluctuation of total sales over the 5 years). From the Guild's perspective, the event went extremely well with very few hiccups! I would like te extend BIG thank yous to: Darrel Hancock and John Cloutier for all cheit organizational work; Darrel especially for his willingness to donate many, many hours to oversee the layout and set-up of the faciliry; and John for the connection with the food people and alse for preparing yet again an amazing salmon bbg supper for participants an che Saturday night (I say apparently because although 1 initially planned to attend, by the time I arrived (about 45 minutes late), there was not a morsel of food left!). Other BIG thank yous go to Par Schendel of the Fraser Walley Poreers' Guild for organizing and overseeing the demonstration area, and, of course, to the many potters who took their turn at the wheel! Our new workshop committee, headed by Aaron Nelson, has created a very Inesy seemmer for pou! Please lock elsewhere in this issue for information on Patrick Horsley, Randy Brodnax, Dannon Rhudy and Yasuo Terada. Lastly, please make a note of the following listed times for when I am available for phone calls, appoinrments, etc. [ will make every attempt to be available during chese times, although my schedule seems to be rocating a bit this summer. ['m sorry to have to delineate umes for conversation and discussion, but it will certainly increase my efficiency when I can focus on one thing ar a time inscead of juggling several things at once! This is a bat of a trial at the moment, so please give me feedback if you find chese hours inconvenient or comsericting for you; [will keep you posted of any changes. Thank you for your understanding... New Guild Office Hours: Tuesday and Thursday, 9:30 -10:30am Monday and Wednesday, 3:30 - 5:30pm Please phone ahead to make appointments if you wish to drop by in person, or please reach me by phome during these times.
