The work of Patti Warashina, the
Washington figurative sculptor and
ceramic artist, is on exhibition until
November 3rd at the Bellewoer Art
Museum, 301 Bellevue Square, in the
suburb of Seattle.

Following discussion, the Board has
agreed that the video made this summer
of Bruce Cochrane's workshop/dem-
onstration will be mace available for
lending purposes only. This is because
it was not prepared cocumerctally or for
commercial reasons. However, we do
have lo cover some costs, anc soa rental
fee of $20.00 will be charged, This will
cover mailing costs to you: you will be
responsible for matling tt back.

The film is two hours in length, including
one hour of slides and one hour dem-
onstration of basic throwing, assembling
and clay manipulation, and discussion
of glaze and firing techniques. ] may be
biased, bat the material went together
very well, and tt was a joy lo work on. It
has been proposed that the Guild hold a
viewing night In early December as a

pre-holiday get-together.

STUDIO FIVE

ANNOUNCEMENT

The Board has reviewed tts policy
toward the timing of the rental of
Studio 5. Until dils year, the space
has been rented ata subsidized rate
Lo individuals beginning their career
in ceramics from January to De-
camber. As of this coming year, the
one-year period will commence al
the end of the school year in May
and run until the end of April, 1994,
It is hoped fn so doing that more
individuals will be able to consider
making application for the use of
the Studio 5 apace. Applications will
therefore be recelved up untll the
end of February, 1992. Further in-
formation will be available before
January 1882 in this newsletter.
