At 16:14, Tyler Latimer scored again, and gave Team Red a commanding 6-1 lead. Team Blue did add another at 8:51 on a goal from Eric Eide, but that’s as close as they would pet. Red defeated Blue 6-2. i The Tuesday night match-up was an entirely : different story. Team Red returned to the ice to” take on Team White. Red got on the board first with a goal from | Sean Mahoney at 6:40 of the first period. Team White didn’t play to their usual calibre in this game, being completely outplayed by Team Red. . But, the story of Team White’s season truly has been goaltender Donny Van Dyk, who has held the White team in many games. This game was no different, and after a scoreless second period, Team Red was leading 1-0. ‘Team White played more desperately in the third, but Red goaltender Jeremy Bentham was making great saves of his own to help Red maintain their 1-0 lead. There was still no scoring with just over a minute to go in the game, and that’s when Team White pulled their goaltender for an extra atlacker. ; White gave it all they had and with 36 sec- onds left, Tysen Leblond came through again with a big goal. After taking a set-up pass from Dan Matthews, Leblond walked in and fired a slapshot into the Red goal, and tied the game. It felt like a loss for Red and a win for White, but this game ended in a 1-1 draw. In the Thursday night game, Team White faced Team Blue. White opened the scoring at 8:54 of the opening frame on a goal from Tysen Lebiond. In the second, Team Blue tied it up at 10:39 on a marker from David Scafe. Team Blue went up 2-1 at 8:34 with a goal from Eric Eide. White tied it up at 2:22 as Le- blond picked up his second of the game. However, with only 8 seconds left in the period, Eide scored again and put Team Blue in front 3-2 after two, Much like Tuesday night’s game Team White was being outplayed by their opponent — though the score was close. But they turned it on at the end again and with 2:45 ta go, that hard-ta-stop player scored again. Tysen Leblond completed a hat trick while tying the game at 3 in the process, Team White held on to tie for the second straight game, in a 3-3 score against Team Blue. ‘ After 12 weeks in the 2001-02 Midget House season, Team White leads the league standings with 29 points. Game honours fallen coach, injure THE TERRACE arena was simply booming as dozens of novice hockey players cheered “Let’s go White, let’s go!” on Friday, Dec. 14. It was the last game of the season before the Christmas break and on the ice were Long’s Logging wearing the white jerseys and Canadian Tire decked out in yellow. But this was no ordinary game. Long’s Logging’s bench was one player short. Brandon Juch wasn’t on the ice because of injuries he sustained in a Dec. 8 car accident en route to a novice hockey tournament in Ha- zelton. He suffered internal injuries, injured ribs and a broken wrist. This game was dedicated to Brandon and his father Adrian Juch, a co-coach for the no- “It's the last game before the break and the kids and coaches thought it would be a good idea to pay tribute to Brandon and his dad,” said Kevin Legros. Before the puck. dropped the young players, their coaches and parents stood for a minute of silence. Then the two teams on the ice slapped the sheet with their sticks in appreciation of the work Adrian did for them and for their missing teammate.
