TWO TERRACE pioneers, Armand and Leonardt Bissonnette, visited Heritage Park last week, Here they reminisce with museum director Mamie Kerby. A visit from the past HERITAGE PARK had some unique ‘visitors last week — two men who were part of the cily’s pioneering history came back to Terrace after more than a 30 year absence. Armond and Leonardt Bissonnette and Leonard’s wife Rosemary (Tetrault) were lreated lo a special reception at Heritage Park by park director Mamie Kerby and by Yvonne Mocn. Amnond was born in his Park Ave, home in 1924 and his brother Leonardt was bom in 1931, Both boys attended the Kitsum- kalum school, and: Leonardt remembered having a teacher named Miss Longworth, Today many in’Terrace know Miss Long- worth as Aileen Frank, She was also on SALESMAN Victor Cavalheiro congratulations. Armond was one of the early loggers in Terrace, and had the first two-man’ power saws in the area. About $1,080 has been col- lected from pledges so far, and organizer Lori Merrill says the money is still coming in. | One of the more generous donations was made by a group of young environmentalists, called Kids For Saving Earth. They're a group of youngsters’ in grades 4-7 at Thornhill Elementary. , The Greenbelt Assoc. organized the walk, as part of au effort to raise awareness about the impartance of the Howe Creek lands.
