The survey, prepared by the French School Board (CSF) cultural and community task force, gave parents, teachers, administrators, and members of francophone community organizations an opportunity to ex- press their opinions regarding general concepts that could be used to develop a cultural and community policy. In 1993, the task force on francophone culture in British Columbia published a report, entitled “L'école francaise — un habitat de culture”, commissioned by the office of official languages and multicultural programs of the Ministry of Education and the minister res- ponsible for Multiculturalism. Forty-eight the have been addressed and today serve recommendations from report as points of reference for working group members’ discussions. The pioneers of this document will surely continue to inspire us in the work ahead. The group has met several times already and outlined the bases of the CSF cultural and community policy.
