The Bailey Bridge is a major arterial road for vehicles entering and exiting Port Coquitlam: however, the existing connecting roads to the bridge is always congested with vehicles since it is a one-lane bridge. The City will be constructing a four-lane bridge (and connecting roads) to replace the existing Bailey Bridge in order to relief the tratfic congestion entering and exiting Port Coquitlam. The current tratfic condition entering and exiting Port Coquitlam is horrendous. East and West bound combined). Shaughnessy Street presently ends at Stafford Avenue and there is no access between Shaughnessy Street and Mary Hill Bypass. The construction of an access road at Shaughnessy Street between Stafford Avenue and Nacht Avenue will provide a through road between Shaughnessy Street and Mary Hill Bypass. thereby, relieving traffic congestion on other arterial and collector roads in Port Coquitlam. -oast Meridian Road: Westmini y ‘Prairie Av This section of the existing arterial road is in poor condition and has been for a number of years. The City has, on an on-going basis, tried to carry out surface maintenance work in order to keep the pavement in satisfactory condition. The City has reconstructed the South side and North side of this section of road between Lougheed Highway and Westminister Avenue and Prairie Avenue and Victoria Drive respectively. The entire Coast Meridian Road between Lougheed Highway and Victoria Drive will be reconstructed once this section of road is reconstructed. The City has designated Coast Meridian Road to be one of the City's bicycle route; therefore, the City has to purchase a 4 metre wide right-of-way along the East side of Coast Meridian Road to accommodate a bicycle path. R Street: Pitt River Road and Wil . This section of the existing collector road is in poor condition and has been for a number of years. The City has, on an on-going basis, tried to carry out surface maintenance work in order to keep the pavement in satisfactory condition. With the imminent construction of the Lougheed connector, which will replace the existing one lane Bailey Bridge, this section of road will become a major collector road. Therefore, the City needs to upgrade the conditions of this section of existing road in order to accommodate the anticipated extra volume of traffic.
