Brown Director of Community Pianning SUBJECT: Draft Industrial Zoning Districts Gi JUN 3 = 1986 RECOMMENDATION: Thet City Counci: direct the Clerk's Office to include the draft Industrial Zoning Districts in omnibus redraft of the Zoning By law. And that City Council authorise the Planning Committee to circulate the draft Industrial Zoning Districts to owner of industrial properties for their comments. COMMENTS: The draft industrial zoning districts have been reviewed by both the City's solicitor and economic development consultant and their comments have been included. Differences between the proposed industrial zoning distri.cts and the current district regulations are a streamlining of regulations and using classes of uses rather than a list of specific kinds of businesses that can be carried out. Regulatory changes included in the proposed industrial districts are specific requirements for screening of loading areas and outdoor storage and setting landscaping standards. Regulations that have been relaxed or deleted are to now permit parking In required front yards and to clarify where and how much outdoor storage is permitted. - The draft industrial zoning districts have been written in a modular fashion to permit their revision and for additiƩns to be made at a later date.
