In addition to the measurable impacts stated, the Maple Sugar Festival also provided a number of non-immediate and non-economic benefits. It was an effective tool to promote Francophone history and culture and also increase the sense of community. The Festival helped keep local expenditures in the market, increased awareness and positive perceptions of Nanaimo and also helped increase the likelihood of return visits to the area.
