wom COUN JUN 2 3 i975 Mayor and Aldermen June 18th, 1975 R.A. Freeman City Clerk Re: Request for General Licences - PoCo Valley Golf and Country Club Council will recall that the above noted subject was discussed at the meeting of June 9th, 1975 and was deferred until a full Council was present and additional information was received. A copy of PoCo Valley Golf and Country Club's letter of June 3rd, 1975 is attached along with a copy of our letter of June 12th, 1975 to the Liquor Administration Branch seeking further information. Coe On Tuesday, June 17th, 1975 we received a visit from Mr. E. Boechler, Inspector, Liquor Administration Branch, and he advised that the application was being made under Section 12.02 of the Liquor Act Regulations which authorizes the issuance of general licence to a recreational centre, community centre, or municipally or Provincially owned cultural centre to which the general public have access, subject te such terms and conditions as may be prescribed by the general manager. One of the requirements for issuance of such a licence is the approval of the Municipality or Regional District, as the case may be, in which the establishment is located and this approval may be given for all applications of a particular class or approvals may be given individual applications in each class as they arise. If PoCo Valley Golf and Country Club were to be granted the general licence it would operate under the same rules as a Neighbourhood Public House although it would not technically be classed as such. - We trust this is the information Council requires.
