Rosemary Amon Cathi Jefferson Keith RiceJones GALLERY REPORT The summer is upon us, and we are looking forward to masses of people visiting the Gallery. It has been a slow recovery for ws, and it is going to take some time before we regain the level of sales in previous years. We continue to work on presence here on the island. Our new signage has been installed, and reporta so far indicate that we are more visible. That means more people will find us. Granville Island management is putting together a craft catalogue to advertise all galleries, studios and theatres. Available soon, it will help visitors find their way around and generate more interest on Cartwright Street. Our fall line-up includes a joint feature with the Weavers and Spinners Guild. A number of Gallery artists have had their work chosen by the weavers who will be creating pieces ta coordinate with pots. Graeme Allemeersch will be featured in Qetober, Our Christmas feature will begin in November. We will be focusing on the Coffee Service as a concept and I will be in contact with all gallery artists for their contributions. In conjunction, we are also planning a raffle. Guild members who are not presently selling in the Gallery but who are interested in participating, please contact me. Work is to be in to the Gallery by October dlst. Have a pood summer, Coralie bene 73 — BOARD MEETING UPDATE The last meeting of the Board of Directors of the Guild was held on May 14, 1994, with all present. ‘The following is a summary of the minutes, The North-West Ceramic Foundation is currently being registered in Victoria. The Guild budget for 1999 as revised from April was presented and approved. Expenditure of $600 was approved towards printing of a brochure for the Jug exhibition. Offices and Committees: Elsa Schamis submitted her resignation from the Board effective the end of June 1993. Tam Irving has withdrawn from the Gallery/Marketing Committee and will chair the Workshop Committee. Lynda Chelak has agreed to be the Library Rep. to the Board. BR. Amon LATE FLASHII!!! As promised at the AGM in February, the Board and the Gallery Committee have reviewed the consignment percentage of 50% which came into effect in December ‘92. Sales continue to be down from last year, and it was moved at this June meeting to retain the ratio over the summer, with a commitment to review again in September.
