HON. RB. B. BENNETT COMING

Hon. R. B. Bennett is the leader of
the Conservative party in Canada.
He will address a public meeting in
Smithers next Tuesday ‘evening. As
he has given a week of his valuable
time to Skeena:riding,.and as he has
found it is impossible to cover more
than the largest points. in that time,
it would be fiting for the voters in the
adjoining towns and setlements to go
to Smithers to hear the leader next
Tuesday night. “The roads are in ex-
cellent condition and nearly everyone
has a car. The lender. woulgge glad
to see a large number front here
at his Smithers meeting, Hon Mr.
Bennett is one of the big men in Can-
ada. He has made a wonderful suec-
cess in his profession and in business
Zie has given up a) business and his
profession and is devoting his entire
time and energy to the welfare of Can-
ada. It is well to be in touch with such
men no matter what their polities are,
as there are few in this or any other
country who give. thelr all to the coun-
ty. :

WHY PICK ON THE INDIANS?
In the last: issue the Interior News
made some excited comment upon the
“greasy” Indians not being responsible
for dumages they couse in auto accid-
ents, or something to that effect. But
why pick on the Indians only? There
are many, many whites, especially the
rising generation who are’ no more re-
sponsible for. their ‘actions in a car
than are the Indians. These -young
whites have nothing: in the world
other than a partially paid for car
Clothes, homes, .bank.. accounts or
evel common-courtesy. on the road are
things mueh beyond their. iden of life
or their conception of the fitness of
things.

While we are making no claim that
the Indian should be granted a drivers
license indiscriminately, we would sug-
gest that young white drivers be eur-
tailed by advancing the age at which
they may get a license and . as to the

ted to drive. :

ers. How many drivers are there in
