MEMORANDUM DEC 18 1973 Mayor and Aldermen December 15th, 1978 R.A. Freeman City Clerk Re: Proposed Purchase of Fire Truck -On the Council meeting agenda of December 18th, 1978 is a report from the Building and Protection Committee dated December 15th, 1978 recommending that the Fire Truck described therein be purchased for just slightly less than $210,000.00. As Council is aware, the current By-law that contemplates the borrowing of money for the purpose of purchasing a Fire Truck, No. 1641, is in the amount of -$195,000.00 and the By-law shouid be amended to provide the new figure ef $210,000.00. The amendments necessary may be accomplished by passage of the following resolution: - "That third reading of By-law No. 1641 as given on November 20th, 1978 be rescinded; THAT the said By-law be amended by striking out the figure "$195,000.00 where it appears in the fourth recital thereof and substituting therefore the figure "$210,000.00"; THAT the said By~law be further amended by striking out the words and figures “One Hundred Ninety-five Thousand ($195,000.00) Dollars" where it appears in Section 1 thereof and substituting therefore the words and figures ''Two Hundred fen Thousand ($210,900.00) Dollars"; THAT the said By-law be further amended by striking out Section 2 thereof and substituting the following: "2, There shall be raised and levied during the currency of the obligation hereby created by a rate sufficient therefore over and above all other rates upon all land and improvements subject to taxation for general municipal purposes in the municipality for the repayment of the principal in the respective years the amount as follows, cogether with the payment of the interest thereon: Year Principal $ 1980 34,000.00 1981 38,000.00 1982 42,000. 00 1983 46,000.00 1984 50,000. 00 AND THAT the said By-law No. 1641, as amended, be read a third time." o—~ COR Anvhn) City Clerk
