BRIEF TO PORT COQUITLAM CITY COUNCIL C 0 We, the applicants, hereby ask Council to consider our application. for a business license to Operate a Teenage Disco-Dance Club at 2614 Shaughnessey St., Port Coquitlam. We also ask Council to enter into a Parking Agreement with us, ‘similer to the one it entered into with the previous Theatre , Statistics Canada, 1976, shows that there are more than 3,000 teenagers in Port Coquitlan. We offer them the best in sound, light show effects, disc jockeys, ‘electronic and pinball machines, soccor games, food and juice bar. . The decor of the club will be on par with current adult discos in Coquitlam and Vancouver. In other words, we will provide a place that the teens will respect as their own; a& place where they can be a "star" without liquor, drugs or rowdy behavior. BENEFITS TO COMMUNITY: 1, Gives the local teenager an entertainment facility to attend that is designed especially for then. . 2. Gives teens the opportunity to meet and make new friends in 4 social setting geared to their tastes. : 3. Gives them the chance to take part in Disco Dance lessons, and _ dance as part of a dance troupe. Dancing, by the way, is one of the best forms of excersise. 4, Helps young people adjust to new social situations that they will encounter. 5- Helps your teenagers to overcome Social fears and through dancing develop self-confidence. 6.
