5 : TE CORPORATION OF THE CHY OF PORT COGUITLAN ( KM , in . a a DEC 10 1973 TO: Mayor and Council December 7th, 1973 FROM: Public Works Committee Report from the Public Works Committee meeting held Friday, November 30th, 1973 at 4:00 p.m. In attendance: Alderman E.W. Mabbett Alderman L.M. Traboulay R.G. Criggie V.G. Borch, Respectfully submitted. ITEM L Re: Langan Avenue Closure Attached is the sketch outlining the traffic movements at the Broadway - Langan intersection. It is apparent froin the observation of these traffic movements that there is very little traffic using Langan west of Broudway. This situation might change when Langan is constructed through to Kingsway. At that time it is suggested that if heavy traffic becomes a problem on Langan Avenue west of Broadway that Langan be blocked on the west side of Broadway and Ryan Street be constructed from Langan to Morgan, ITEM II Re; Downtown Parking The Committee recommends that the 30 minute parking from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. on south side of McAllister be changed to two hour parking from 8:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. in order to bring this in conformance with the remain~ der of the two hour parking downtown. ITEM III Re: Traffic Signal - Lougheed and Colony Farm Road The Department of Highways have advised that a left turn directional arrow signal has been installed at the Lougheed Highway and Colony Farm Road. The Department of Highways is waiting the supply of critical components and as soon as these components have been received the signal will be made operational. ITEM IV Re: Shaughnessy — Louzheed Intersection The Department of Highways advise that they are giving consideration to the installation of a left turn directional arrow signal for left turn traffic from Shaughnessy turning west onto the Lougheed Highway. lZeccsesees
