Ae Pel hrka stax February 24, 1992/043 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on Monday, February 24th, 1992, at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Aldermen M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, R.H. Talbot, M.A. Thompson and M.R. Wright were in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, Acting City Clerk &. Rauh, City Engineer I. Zahynacz, Director of Planning C.R. Felip, Director of Building Permits and Inspections J. Shardlow and Fire Chief J. Baillie. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Thompson: Seconded by Alderman Gates: That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council meeting heid on February 17th, 1992 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. PROCLAMATION: WHEREAS The Chamber of Commerce has been serving Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody for twenty~one years; WHEREAS Its membership now stands at 396 with 123 members in Port Coquitlan; WHEREAS The Chamber of Commerce promotes business and economic development by providing support and education in Coquitlam, Port Coquitlam and Port Moody; WHEREAS The Chamber of Commerce put its faith in the individual who operates under the competitive enterprise system to ensure the highest possible standard of living for all British Columbians; AND WHEREAS The Chamber of Commerce stands for good citizenship, good government and good business, NOW THEREFORE I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of February 24 to 28, 1992 as “CHAMBER OF COMMERCE WEEK" in the City of Port Coquitlam. WHEREAS The Canadian Charter of Rights and Freedoms guarantees freedom of thought, belief, opinion and expression; WHEREAS The Public Libraries of Canada, including the Fraser Valley Regional Library, have served as a "peoples' university" through facilitating access to all expressions of knowledge and intellectual activity including those which are sometimes viewed as unconventional, unpopular or unacceptable;
