Norah of. Cedarvale passes on THIS WEEK, I have a tribute to Agnes Norah Brown, a descen- dent of one of the original resi- dents of Meanskinisht (Cedar- vale). She was born on Sept. 18, 1932 in Cedarvale and was baptized in the United Church. Her parents were Jasian and Emma Bright, Her paternal grandparents were Samuel and Hannah Bright Her maternal grandparents were Tom and Agnes Campbell. _ When older, Norah mared — Horace Nelson Brown, of Kit- seguekla, son of Moses and Mabel Brown. They were maried in the United Church in Hazelton, B.C. Their best man was Robert Samucl Bright. The maid of honour was Ella Turley. Norah’s marriage was approved by her father and she was given away by Aunt Agnes Sutton Norah gave birth to nine chil- dren -— Graham, Elizabeth Emma, Jennifer Norah, Leslie (deceased), Wayne, Constable Gerald Brown (Prince Rupert), Loretia Elaine, Jacob (deceased), and Nathan Bright, adopted by Robert and Agatha Bright. She knew how to set a net, fish for ker family, and would go to gather berries Jrom the mountains. Norah lived in Cedarvale and she and her children would help Aunty Agnes Sution and Fred with the gardening, fishing and preserving winter supplies of food, She knew how to set a net, fish for her family, and would go to gather bermies from — the mountains. She also put in her own parden, - Noralfwas'also “active in all schogl activities and many com- ciunty activitics. She played the guitar and laved to sing. She came from a family of musicians. She always liked to play ball, and belonged to a softball team. She brought her children to- gether many times for family gatherings and special occasions. If any of the relalives needed help, she would gather her chil- dren together and go to help whoever needed her, She gave of what she had, and will always be remembered, Agens Norah Brown passed away on March 15, 1994 at Mills Memorial Hospital in Terrace. A memorial service was held Thursday, March 17, 1994 ¢ at the Salvation Army. A funeral service was held 10 am. Friday, March 18, 1994 at the Salvation Army. Interrment was at the Terrace cemetery. Norah is survived by her com- panion and Giend Orville McFar- len, brother Wilfred Bright (Noreen and four children), sister Mary Dalen (Halvor and son), and her children — Graham (Bar- bara), Betty, Jenny, Wayne (Deb- bie}, Gerald, Loretta (Paul), Nathan.
