November 1, 1993328 A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, BC on Monday, November Ist, 1993, at 7:30 p.m. Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors, M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, R.H. Talbot, M.A. Thompson, and M.R. Wright were in attendance. Also in attendance were Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Treasurer/Deputy Administrator J.G.S. Maitland, City Engineer LR. Zahynacz, Director of Community Planning C.R. Felip, Fire Chief J.L. Baillie, and Deputy Fire Chief G. Routley. Seconded by Councillor Wright: That the minutes of the Public Hearing and Regular Council Meeting held on October 25th, 1993 be taken as read and adopted. Carried. PR MIA’ Whereas followers of Baha’u’llah around the world believe that the purpose of religion is to be the cause of love and unity and calls upon the people of every race, nation, culture, religion and class to regard themelves as one family; Whereas November 8th to 14th is proclaimed as Unity in Diversity Week in hundreds of other localities in Canada; Whereas we support the concept that the earth is one country and mankind are its citizens who are encouraged to develop capacities of understanding, kindness, generosity, honesty, loyalty and love; And whereas the Baha’is of Port Coquitlam are actively working toward these ideals and to promote the ideal of unity in diversity among the many different people that make up our town; Now therefore I, Leonard M. Traboulay, Mayor of the Corporation of The City of Port Coquitlam, DO HEREBY PROCLAIM the week of November 8th to November 14th, 1993 as “UNITY IN DIVERSITY WEEK" in the City of Port Coquitlam.
