RECOMMENDATION :

1. That this report informing Council of the Public Information Meeting held
on February 9, 1994 on Rezoning Application 71/93 be received;

2. That the Municipal Clerk be instructed to proceed with the preparation of
the authorizing Bylaw for Rezoning Application 71/93 and bring it to
Council for consideration; a

That the Planning Department be authorized to draft Development Permit
72/933 and

That the Mayer and Clerk be authorized to sign the document when completed
subject to completion of Rezoning Application 71/93.

BACKGROUND:

On January 10, 1994 the Municipal Council gave approval to proceed, to
Bylaw stage, to Rezoning Application 71/93 subject to a Public Information
Meeting being held prior to introduction of the Bylaw.

PUBLIC INFORMATION MEETING:

On February 9, 1994 the applicant held a Public Information Meeting at the
Kinsmen Hall. The meeting was attended by approximately 15 residents, two
representatives of the developer, the architect/designer and the Director of
Planning.

The tone of the meeting was generally positive towards the quality and
appropriateness of a building of this size in the Downtown Area.
