A regular meeting of the Municipal Council of The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chamber, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2272 McAllister Avenue, Port Coquitlam, B.C. on September 20th, 1982 at 7:30 p.m. His Worship Mayor L.M. Traboulay, Aldermen M.D. Gates, G.R. Laking, E.W. Mabbett, A.K. Muldoon, D.J. Vater, and M.R. Wright in attendance. Also in attendance were Chief Administrative Officer B.R. Kirk, City Clerk R.A. Freeman, City Engineer F.£. Peters, P. Eng., Director of Community Planning W. Brown and Recording Secretary D. Vyse. CONFIRMATION OF MINUTES: Moved by Alderman Laking: Seconded by Alderman Vater: That the minutes of the regular Council meeting held on September 13th, 1982, be taken as read and adopted. Carried. DELEGATIONS: Parks and Recreation Committee Chairman Alderman M.R. Wright introduced May Day Coordinator Mrs. Jean Day and Committee member Mr. Bob Hind and expressed the Council's appreciation and congratulations for a very successful 1982 May Day. Also present was Mrs. Elaine Cramer, designer of the May Day float and Alderman Wright expressed the Council's appreciation to her and all the people who assisted her in making the float a complete success. Mrs. Day advised the float was entered in four parades this:year and won an award in each. The May Day Queen then presented the President's Award received from the P.N.E. parade to Mayor Traboulay and Mayor Traboulay presented a City pin and City pen to the May Day Queen and her princesses, the May Day Coordinator, and the people present who helped with May Day and the May Day float for 1982.
