That the purchasing policy as outlined in

the City Treasurer's June 16th, 1982 memorandun,

with the addition of the word “specification”
after the word “quality”, be approved.

That the City Engineer be authorized to
impose emergency sprinkling regulations if water
pressure and supply conditions deteriorate due
to a long, dry summer.

Carried.

Prior to the question being called on the
foregoing resolution Alderman Laking suggested
that the water restrictions be from 4:00 p.m. to
16:00 p.m. and then if further restrictions were
required then have restrictions from 7:00 a.m.
to 10:00 p.m. and the following amendment was
proposed:

That the emergency water restrictions be in
effect from 4:00 p.m. to 10:00 p.m. and then if
further restrictions are required the
restrictions be effect 7:00 a.m. to 10:00 p.m.

Aldermen Laking and Mabbett
voted in favour of the resolution.
