September 9th, 1974 the I.A.F.F., wherein the wages, salaries, hours of work, and other conditions of employment to be observed during 1974 for those employees of the Corporation em- ployed as Fire Department personnel for whom the Association is recognized as the Collective Bargaining Agency, is set out, be approved; AND THAT the Mayor and City Clerk be authorized to sign the said Agreement on behalf of the City and affix the Corporate Seal thereto. Carried. Prior to passqae of the foregoing resolution, Alderman Ranger commented that both sides of the Negotiating Committee should be commended for their efforts in arriving at a fiir settlement. BY-LAWS : Alderman Laking introduced a By-law to authorize The Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam to enter into a lease agreement with Can~Arena Ads Inc. The City Clerk advised that notices were posted at the City Hall and at the Justic Building, thus meeting the requirements of the Municipal Act. Alderman Ranger Stated he #lt the proposal should have been advertised in the Journal of Commerce and other trade magazines and that it was his intent to vote against the motion as e it now stands. Alderman Mabbett stated he agreed with the principle of advertising in the arenas, but that he believed the proposal should have been put to public tender.
