RE: Assignment of Duties By~Law

The Council will recall that at a recent Committee meeting dealing with personnel
matters the position of Parks Superintendent was established and the City Engineer
was authorized to appoint Mr. Won Kim thereto under the terms and conditions set
out in the City Administrator's recent memorandum.

The position of Parks Superintendent should now be included in the City's
“Assignment of Duties By-law, 1972, No. 1184" and By-law No. 1291 attached to

this memorandum will accomplish this and the By-law is available for first three
readings. The Council will note that this By-law replaces the current sections

7 and 8 and we would advise that these sections presently refer to the position of
Chief Building Inspector and it has recently been determined by the Labour Relation
Board that this is not presently a Management position and it is therefore appro-
priate te delete it from the By-law.
