The story of this photograph

The March 26th issue of the Pacific Tribune
reprinted the above picture from another paper
in much reduced form, It caused an immediate
reaction, One open-line radio program inter-
viewed our editor about it and the photo became
the subject of much discussion,

Some readers also asked if we had the orig-
inal photo and wanted to know where they could
get an enlarged copy to show their friends as an
example of the U.S. atrocities in Vietnam,

The Pacific Tribune wrote the weekly pro-

gressive paper, the National Guardian in New.

picture which was taken by Wilfred G, Burchett,
a widely experienced newspaper man and author,

He took this photo of a 10 year old girl

shortly after a napalm bombing by U.S, planes
near the Cambodian border, Many thousands
of Vietnamese have been killed or horribly
maimed by the inhuman use of burning gasoline
jelly bombs rained down on the population,

The U.S, military are now stepping up the
terror war to subdue the people of South and
North Vietnam, Around the clock bombings
have now been ordered, On Easter weekend
1,000 tons of bombs were dropped on South
Vietnamese villages, This is more than twice
the weight of bombs dropped by Hitler’s bombers
on Coventry,

The Pacific Tribune is republishing this photo
in order to arouse the conscience of Canadians to
demand that Prime Minister Pearson condemn
these U.S, atrocities,
