A special meeting of the Municipal Council of the Corporation of the City of Port Coquitlam was held in the Council Chambers, Port Coquitlam City Hall, 2580 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam, BC on Monday, June 21st, 1993, at 7:00 p.m. Mayor L.M. Traboulay and Councillors M.D. Gates, M.J. Gordon, J.J. Keryluk, R.H. Talbot, M.A. Thompson and M.R. Wright were in attendance. Also in attendance were City Administrator B.R. Kirk, City Clerk S. Rauh, City Treasurer/Deputy Administrator J.G.S. Maitland, City Engineer IR. Zahynacz, Deputy Engineer, J.E. Yip, City Planner C.R. Felip, Planner J. Lee, Director of Building Permits and Inspections J.D. Shardlow, Fire Chief J-L. Baillie, and Deputy Fire Chief G. Routley. REPORTS: Mayor L.M. Traboulay introduced Mr. Larry McNeil, 1253 Eastern Drive, who wished to address Council regarding BC Transit changes - Citadel Heights. Moved by Councillor Gates: n re n: That Mr. McNeil be allowed to address Council regarding BC Transit changes - Citadel Heights. Carried. Mr. Larry McNeil, 1253 Eastern Drive gave a brief presentation of why he is opposed to BC Transit changes in Citadei Heights. Councillor Gates introduced a report from the City Engineer, June 18th, 1993 regarding BC Transit Changes - Citadel Heights. Moved by Councillor Gates: Seconded by Councillor Gordon: That Council not support the proposed revision to BC Transit Route No. 161 as described in the letter from BC Transit dated May 18th, 1993. That Council request BC Transit to investigate changing the existing BC Transit Route No. - 161 by having buses travel west on Citadel Drive, make a tumaround at Capital Court, then travel east on Citadel Drive and then return to the original route travelling back to Coquitlam Centre via Pitt River Road/Eastern Drive/Westem Drive. ‘That Council request BC Transit to use smaller buses on the BC Transit No. 161 Route.
