SUBJECT: SWING GATE INSTALLATION - END OF CONNAUGHT AVE. - BROWN
STREET RIGHT OF WAY

RECOMMENDATION:

1) That Council approve the installation of a fabricated steel swing gate at the end
of Connaught and Pooley to allow for emergency and maintenance vehicle
access at our estimated cost of $1400.00.

2) That $1400.00 be allocated from the Special Public Works Capital Reserve
Fund for this purpose.

BACKGROUND AND COMMENTS: |

At the regular Council Meeting held October 5/92 the Public Works Cormmittee was requested to
investigate the necessity for a swing gate at the end of Connaught. The attached memo from the
project technician dated October 21, 1992 was reviewed at the Public Works Committee
November 3, 1992. Following discussion it was recommended that the Committze concur with
the proposal to install a swing gate at the estimated cost of $1400.00.

Treasurer’s Comment:

There are sufficient funds in the Special Public Works Capital Reserve Fund for this purpose.
