In view Municipal Affairs for Supplementary Letters Patent to authorize of this the Board has submitted an application to the Department of the District to undertake the function. Cascade Pipeline Proposal The coal pipeline corridor proposal, which has been under review since 1971, has been re-examined in regard to the proposal of the Company to locate it within the B.C. Hydro right-of-way extending from Colebrook eastward through the Lower Fraser Valley. It would parallel the Roberts Bank rail line; the remaining distance to the Roberts Bank port. The Board has solicited comments from the Municipalities Delta and the Technical Planning Committee. All three have objected to to a location before all studies and information on of Surrey, giving approval-in-principle! environmental effects and terminal facilities are available. The Regional Board will inform the Minister of Lands, Forests and Water Resources and the Minister of Commercial Transport that it is epposed to the construction of a coal pipeline in the Lower Mainland without full information on environmental impact and on proposed remedial measures. For Floodplain and Floodproofing Policies The recommendations of the Planning Committee in regard to the above (Tabled at the November, 1972, meeting) were reviewed by the Board at its March 7th meeting and referred to the Planning Committee for updating prior to reconsideration by the Regional Board, 2. /2
