June 1 - 7, 1980 is National Red Cross Water Safety Week in
Canada. It's theme is Water Safety - A Family Affair. The
objective is to increase public awareness of the need to he
more safety conscious in and around the water.

The Red Cross Water Safety Service is requesting that you
involve yourself on our behalf. A proposed Proclamation is
enclosed. It is our hope that you will be supportive by
officially proclaiming Red Cross Water Safety Week in your
community.

The Proclamation, passed on to the media, will then compliment
the materials which we are sending directly to the media - fe.
a press release, T.V. spot, and public service announcements.

On behalf of the Canadian Red Cross, we would like to express
our appreciation to you for your contribution and co-operation.
