Re: Weighted Vote -
Fraser Valley Regional Library

At its June 28th meeting the Board ‘of Management
voted to approve limiting use of the weighted vote to
questions relating to passage of the annual budget in
its provisional and final stages.

The method of weighting which the board has used
since March 26, 1975 and which the Board recently re-
affirmed is as follows:

One vote for each representative, plus one
vote for each complete $1,000 of library
tax assessment, after the first $l, 000.

As will be seen, this weighting on budget matters
gives voting power in direct proportion to library as-
sessments paid.

The Board has asked that this information be circu-
‘Lated to the respective member Municipal Councils and
- Boards of School Trustees for ratification.
