Moved by Alderman Ranger: That in accordance with the City of Port Coquitlam's Sign Regulation By-law No. 936, the request from Mr. Dennis Higgins, President of Sefton Holdings Ltd., doing business as Salty's Fish and Chips, 2865 Shaughnessy Street, Port Coquitlam for permission to erect a sign at the northeast corner of the parking lot to advertise the business, be denied. Lost for want of a seconder. Alderman Wright spoke on the application for a sign to advertise Salty's Fish and Chips. Alderman Wright stated the lot is zoned C-2 and is approximately 24; acres in size. By-law No. 936 allows two free standing signs on 2-4 acres. Moved by Alderman Wright: Seconded by Alderman Laking: That By-law No. 936 be amended to allow 3 free standing signs on 2- 4 acres in the C-2 Zone. Withdrawn. Alderman Laking stated By-law No. 936 should be reviewed and changed so individual amendments are not necessary and would allow the owner of each business in a shopping centre to have a proper sign if they so wished.
