Re: Purchase of Equipment for
Parks Department

Quotations have been received and analyzed for the
following two items which are provided for in the 1978 Budget.

1. Tractor-Loader

Two quotations were received as per attached recap
No. 1. I recommend the purchase of the Kubota L 295 from
Avenue Farm Machinery Ltd. for a total price including tax
of $11,416.65. This is a four-wheel drive unit which we have
tested and which is far superior to any two-wheel drive unit
because of weight transfer when the front end loader is in
operation. The price is well under the budget of $16,300.00.

2. Tractor-Mounted Rototiller
| Five quotations were received for a tractor-mounted
rototiller as per attached recap No. 2. The lowest quotation
from B.M.E. Supply does not meet our specifications. The
second lowest quotation from Taylor, Pearson has a four to five
week delivery time and the company has given-us very bad service
previously for parts. We recommend the purchase of the Kubota
FS1270 from Avenue Farm Equipment Ltd. for a total price of
$1,531.95 including tax. The rototiller is.designed to be
compatible with the tractor listed in No. 1 above and is avail-
able on ten days delivery.

The cost of this equipment is included in the budget
with the $16,300.00 provided for the tractor. The total cost
of rototiller plus tractor comes to $12,948.60.
