Following finalization of the 1976 budget, tenders have been called for the supply of various vehicles and equipment. Summaries of the bids received are attached hereto. The Committee recommends that the following equipment be awarded as outlined. Compact Pick-up Metro Motors $3,146.87 Full-size Pick-up Metro Motors $4,273.58 Single-axle Truck Rod McCallum $13,603.76 , Motors Dump Body DEL Equipment $4,131.27 In each case above the tendered price is the Lowest Tender and includes all applicable taxes and trade-ins. The Committee recommends that the supply of three small cars be awarded to Metro Motors at their tendered price of $7,697.58. This is the second lowest bid and is for the supply of three 1976 Ford Pinto Two-door Sedans. The lowest bid received was from Clarke Simpkins Ltd. for the supply of three Honda Civics at a tendered price of $7,152.95. The Committee feels that the larger vehicle and the proximity of Metro Motors for parts and service is worth the $544.63 difference. The approved budget allocation for the above equipment was $37,000.00 and if the supply of the vehicles is in accordance with the Committee recomuendation the total cost will be $32,853.00 or over $4,006.00 under budget.
