his 89th birthday with his
daughter and family...

Edward Horch, who is: the
father of Doris Scott, recently -
had a very happy. birthday.
party.

Twenty guests dropped in to
say happy birthday. Four gen-
erations of the family were on
hand to celebrate: -:

daughter Doris, granddaughter
Cindy Marteau, and her three
children Danielle, Taylor and.
Gillian,

A wonderful. day was spent.
with all the family being -to-
gcther for this special day.

Edward Horch ‘has lived in
Winnipeg since 1909. He ar-
rived there at the age of six

just two weeks before Christ-_
mas with his family from .

Eigenfeld in the Ukraine,
Edward was born there on
Aug. 22, 1903, He had: four
brothers and a sister. His fa-
ther was” a. musician
furniture-maker, ©
. Edward worked ‘since 1917
in Winnipeg, first at a glove

factory, and later as afinisher. ,

He retired al age 75.

He and his wife Helen, who
passed away only last year,
had four daughters and a son,
all born in Winnipeg.

His son, Richard, lives in
Edmonton, Daughters Clara
and Carol (a Christmas baby)
still live in Winnipeg, while
Loran is in Los Angeles and
Doris is in' Terrace.

At 89 years, ; Edward is still

in quite good health, riding his

bike and living.in the house he

bought in 1945. He enjoys his

own garden and once a week
housing
centre’ in Winnipeg and does
the gardening there.

His other - granddaughters
from. Terrace are Shannon
Garrett, Lisa Garrett. (now
in Vancouver), and Kelly Gar-

re(¢ (living on Grand Cayman.
Island)
After leaving - Terrace “he,

place in Edmonton for another
