Nearby, in a cave, at the bot- tom of a mountain, there lived a big mean dragon, That dragon was always eating people. So one day, the local king sent away for a knight to come to slay the dragon. Not too- many days passed, before a very~ brave knight, named Slingshot, came to fight the dragon. Slingshot | immediately pro- ceeded to go to the dragon's’ cave. As he walked in.a little ways, he found the dragon lying | "on the floor asleep. Slingshot, who was rather competitive, waited and waited, until finally the. dragon awoke. - When the dragon saw the knight, he blew a stream of fire in the direction of the knight. .The knight ducked, and then he tried to plunge his sharp sword into the dragon’s chest, but he missed. The dragon, who retaliated, spewed some hot flames in the direction of the knight. But he missed as __ well. Next the knight threw a lance at the dragon, and it went right into the dragon’s heart. By this time,: the dragon was so furious, that he almost lit his finger on fire as he ‘spewed out some hot flames. Goar and Thoar signed up im-. mediately for the fight which was to take place on Friday. The day came sooner then ex- pected. Nevertheless, they were ready to enter the ring with the giant. The bell rang and the fight was on. Only two minutes into the fight the giant gave them such a beating that he almost wasted them, Lucky for Goar and Thoar, Thoar was able to land a.knuckle punch at the giant’s rib cage, which sent him to the canvas. Immediately the two terrors pinned him to the floor and: the match was over. The crowd cheered wildly. - _ After receiving such a beating by two mere boys, the giant felt embarassed and moved away. The boys’ in turn, were named “*The Invincible Babarians’’, My Monster by Tim Norman ‘One day, when I was about 6 years old, a huge spaceship land- ed in the bushes behind my house. I proceeded to investigate what the spaceship looked like. _But when. Then I took my dad’s axe and J was going to kill the monster, but the. monster just didn’t want to fight me. In view of this, I put the axe back, but I kept a pellet gun handy just in case. Finally, I asked him what he was doing here. He said that he was look- ing for a friend. ‘‘I will be your friend,’’ Ianswered. Next, I proceeded to find him a home.
