WHEREAS, it has been tha policy of the Yellowhead
‘Highway Association in years past to request
improvements on Highway 5 between Tete Jaune
Cache and Merritt and to advocate the construction
of the Coquihalla Pass route, and

WHEREAS, the current work on Highway 16 greatly
improves the East -West connections of the
Yellowhead Highway, it now becomes essential
to complement this with completion and improvement
of the North-South connection, and

WHEREAS , ‘the Coquihalla Pass route is” ‘the key to the
North-South connection, now

THEREFORE, be it resolved that further funding of
construction on the Yellowhead Highway be
equitably distributed between the Tete Jaune
Cache to Prince Rupert: segment and the completion
of the Coquihalla Pass route.
