Hydro will be contacting the City following another thorough review of their present and future requirements. Alderman Ranger stated he took strong exception tu removal of bus stops in the downtown area; however, he agreed to the Suggestion of Aldernan Thompson that his request to contact the B.C. Hydro Transit respecting the allocation of additional bus stops await the receint of its forthcoming report thereon. From the Leisure Activities Committee, May 24th, 1977 advising that the Parks Superintendent has requested demolition of washrooms, which are open 24 hours per day, at the "Old Cenotaph" Park opposite Aggie Park, due to vandalism and maintenance costs; however, the Committee pointed out that the washrooms at the Women's Centre would then have to be utilized on a 24-hour. basis and perhaps vandalism would be greater due to the fact there are more buildings. A discussion ensued and Mayor Campbell suggested the temporary of the washrooms at the Cenotaph Park with use of the washrooms at the Women's Centre to continue on the usual basis. Moved by Alderman Ranger: Seconded by Alderman Keryluk: That when Coquitlam Avenue is closed to through traffic, the washrooms at the Cenotaph Park be closed to the public on a trial basis, and that the washrooms at the Women's Centre continue to be left open every week day until 5:00 p.m. in the winter and 10:00 p-m. during the summer.
