gy-cty 99.1193 A Byslaw to regulate the grou vehicle weight of vehicles spoa Wastwood Street WHEREAS Westwood Strect is located in a residential area of the City of Port Coquitlam, and hag bean constructed in a standard which is deemed adequata for the needs of the City and the owners of the property within the City located adjacent thereto and served thereby; AND WHEREAS it ia deemed nccessary for the pretecticn ef Westwood Street and Zor the convenience and well-being of the residents living adjacent thereto, to regulate the gross vehicle weight of vehicles which may ba driven, used or operated on the same; THEREFORE the Municipal Council of The Corporation so! the City of Port Coquitlam in open meeting assembled, and in pursuance of the powers vested in ie by the Motor Vehicle Act, being Chapter 253, 3.S.5.c., 1960, as ananded, ENACTS AS FOLLOWS: 1. For the purrosa of thia By-law: *city Engineer* means the City Engineer of The Corporation of the City of Port Cequitian duly appointed as auch by the Municipal Councdi. “vehicle” shall have the meaning assigned to it by the "Motor Vehicta Act". 2. No person shall crive, uu or operate any vehicle having a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 lbs.- OF graater upon Westwood Street, PIOVIDED HOWEVER: (1) that this restrictJoa shall not apply to any such vouicla between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.H., on the days Monday to Friday , dncluaiva, of each week; {2i) that this restriction ahall -aot apply to any such vehicla between the hours of 8:00 A.H. and 5:00 P.M. on Saturdays, 3. No person shall crive, use or operate any vehicle having a gross vehicle weight of 10,060 lbs. or greater upon Weatwood Strest at any time on Sunday OF upon any holiday of general application throughout Canada or any day appointed by Proclamation or Order of the Lieutenant-Governor in Counch) of British Columbia as a holiday. 4. Tae City Engineer shall place or erect or shall cause to be placed or eracted at each end of Westwood Street, signs indicating that vehicles of a gross vehicle weight of 10,000 lbs. or greater shall not be driven, used or operated thereon, except between the hours of 6:00 A.M. and 10:00 P.M. on Monday to Friday inclusive, and between the hours of 3:08 A.M. and 5:00 P.M. on Saturdays. . 5. Any person who violates any of the provisions of thia By-law or who suffers or pernits any act or thing to be done in contravention of this By-law is guilty of © an offence and shall be liable on summary conviction to af .¢ nok axceeding sive Hundred Dollars ($500.00) or to 2 term of imprisonment not excoeding Thirty (30) days or to both. 6. This By-law shall come into full force and teke affect upon the date of ita final aloption and for four consecutive months thereafter, after which time it shall ao loager be of any fores or effast.
