THE FRISNDS OF GHE PORT CG QUivoaAl LIbhakyY 2253 Leigh Square, Port Coguitiam. —_ September 15, 1973 Alderman P. Ranger, Library Representative, 2272 McAllister St., Port Coquitlam, B.C. Dear Alderman Ranger: We are pleased to hear recenuly of the proposed building ~ i of a new shopping Mr°.1l at Lougheed Highway and Shaughnessy 4n Port Coguitlam ard this Association feel strongly that consideration should be given to a new library in this location. « The present facilities have most certainly become too small to service the demands of the present population and should be situatedyin a more central location. We have found, even during the past few months, the number of people using the public library has been greatly increased and the tremendous turnover of books has only i . gdded to the inadequacy, not to mention the congestion B of present facilities for parking. t } It 4s our considered opinion that a new library be given ; first priority and would heartily endorse a fully modern i building which the public could use to full capacity. It is a sincere hope that within this structure audio i visual aides and study rooms for students would be i available and would be pleased to discuss the matter i i further. We therefore ask that our Association be kept well informed on this matter. Yours truly, _ Polk o wick Wo | (Mrs) Thelka wright, | ; Tu/pls President,
