We were given such a transfusion of encouragement, enthusiasm, and genuine concern that we are all in high gear againi Just rarin' to go! It is impossible to in- clude in this Newsletter all the good ideas and excellent suggestions that came from all over the province . .. the Vancouver area, Fraser Valley (all the way to Chilliwack), the Okanagan, the Northern hinter- lands, and the Islands. Theses wonderful letters were all read at a good meeting of deeply concerned members at the Maritime Museum on Nov.2lst. After we had all talked like mad, it was moved by David Lambert (our own WISE MAN), “That the Guild be dissolved and the assets divided among the members." This motion was UNANIMOUSLY DEFEATED. Then we got to work. The Newsletter will continue. Please send in news from outlying areas to (Mrs.) Johann E.Polberg, 351 W.27% St., North Vancouver, V7N 2H4. It is hoped that the Western Potter will be published again in 1975. The next meeting will be at the Maritime Museum, Feb.21st at & P.M. HYCROFT. That's right, HYCROFT. It is our big annual get-together where we all work hard, compare pots, and talk to our favourite people and. . earn money for the Guild CERAMICS $75 will go ahead as an affirmation of our faith in you all and @ Celebration of our Coming of Age. 1975 marks the beginning of our 21st year as a Guild of Potters. April 6 . . « « Jurying of pota « Setting up the Show e Preview for Potters' Guild members and 21st Anniversery Celebration April 7 . . « « » Official opening of the show COMMITTEE to select Jurora: Hiro Urakami, Kathleen Hamilton, Ron Tribe. JURY: 10 prominent people to be selected from the Ceramic Community at large. The point system of jurying will be used. Each may give up to 5 points per pot, possible total of 50 points. PRIZES: The Guild has decided on $1000.- for prizes. Two top prizes of $250.- each. ENTREE FEES: $6.- (plus membership dues) All pots entered shall be for sale, with one third commission to the House of Ceramics. THE TRAVELLING SHOW. The pots returned to Vancouver will be auctioned off to help provide money to buy more pots for the NEXT Travelling Show. The executive have tentative plans for circulating some of the most popular books in the Guild Library with the next show. More about this in the new year.
