Randy Merkel, with an assist from Doug Richey, got one back for the Whites before the period ended. Terry Zaporzan gave the Greens a 3-1 lead in the second frame on pas- ses from Doug Wilson and Bob Dempster. The Whites then rapped in a pair to make it 3-3 after 40 minutes of action. Jeff Sharples got the first one from Merkel. The other was Biagioni’s short-handed effort. The teams traded markers early in the third. Zaporzan, with his second of the night, put the Whites up 4-3, before Hockey juniors tie _ in summer classic Hugh Mitchell rapped in a Sharples’ rebound to tie it up again. Dempster assisted on the Zaporzan score. They rode the 4-all tie up to the last two min- utes when Richey tallied from Sharples and gave the Whites what ap- peared to be a winning 5-4 margin. However, the Greens fought back and it paid off when Philpot knock- ed the puck past a strug- gling Tony Hildebrand in the Whites’ net. These courses ~ are available throughout the college region and are open to all adults, regardless of educational background. Students can attend on a full or part-time basis.
