The Coquitlam Chamber of Commerce hag heen promoting the Student
Venture Program to give students the op ortunity to @arn money during
the summer to help finance their education.

We would be very grateful, for your agaistanca in a amall way. For a
number of occupations, business licenses and bonding are required.

For instance, those businesses that travel door-to-door, The Burnaby
council adopted the policy of last year of charging a business Licenss
fee for the Student Venture Program which recognizes the aducational
value of the program. We would agk that: your municipality give con
Sideratiom to a. business lisence fee for the Student Venture Program
of $10 + $15 (rather than in some cases, $90. or more) and that, scone

sideration be givan to waiving the necessity for bonding.

Already some of our students have become disillusionad hy the high
business licerse fees, and we are sure that you will agree that this
issu@ is not one that should be allowed to deter students from partici.

pating in Student Vanture.
