NOV 6 1978 November 2, 1978 REPORT TO: Mayor and Council REPORT FROM: Leisure Activities Committee ITEM NO. 1 — Practice Light at McLean Park - please see attached information. A few years ago, a "practice light" was erected on a small pole at McLean Park. The soccer teams used the light for practices in the evening. However, the light has been broken for some'time and soccer has requested that it be fixed. Upon inspecting the light, it was found out that the pole was full of dry rot and therefore unuseable. The Committee feels that some form of lighting should be made available at McLean Park and have ‘looked into the cost of acquiring an additional light to be used in conjunction with the existing flood light. The City have some old lamp posts at the yards and we would like to erect two at the west side of McLean field with one floodlight on each pole, These poles” are 30 feet high and would illuminate a fairly large area for Practices. RECOMMENDATION 1. That we erect two lamp standards on the west side of McLean Park with floodlights. 2. That the estimated cost of $2,000.00 be taken from the Parks Aquisition and Development Fund. espectfully submitte pec y ee Janna “Tapior, Recreation Director JT/mjl... att...
