This group had been in exis- tence before 1980 and had continued to serve the Terrace area until on-. ly a small group of four people were doing the work of many. For- tunately, people such as Catherine McKinney felt that there was a need for an organization of this nature. McKinney and _ three other interested parties decided to give the group another chance. With a certain flare of optimism, these four ladies proceeded to ex- pand the membership of their group to around 11 members, and in an ef- fort to get more mem- bers, the group has de- cided to hold an orienta- tion meeting at the Ter- race Public Library on Oct. 15. McKinney feels that Terrace people want to be knowledgeable of the cancer issue and she is expecting a fair turn- out to the meeting. Part of the promotional cam- paign includes posters that have been circulated all over town. ’ Already there are plans in the works for a fall bazaar and spring canvassing. On Nov. 1 and 2 the group will at- tend a Northwest re- gional meeting in Kitse- guecla, The group plans regular meetings after the orientation on Oct. 15, For further informa- tion call 635-5909 or 635-4104.
